Hi, we’re Nelly & Alejandra Cedillo!
We were Born in Mexico but raised in the picturesque landscapes of Chester County, Pennsylvania. We both embarked on a remarkable journey towards the American Dream at a tender age. My family and I immigrated to the United States in the early 2000s, leaving behind the familiar sights and sounds of our homeland in pursuit of new opportunities and a brighter future. It was amidst the rolling hills and charming communities of Chester County that we first set down roots. It became a place that would become integral to my identity and the canvas upon which we painted the story of our life.
At the age of 16, Nelly and I became a DACA recipient, a term that represents the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. This program provided immigrant children like us with the invaluable opportunity to obtain legal work status in the United States. Under DACA, we found not just legal recognition but a sense of belonging in this adopted land. We, DACA recipients, are often affectionately referred to as ‘Dreamers’—a term that embodies our shared aspiration for a brighter future in this land of opportunity. It’s from this shared dream that the name of our business, Dreamer Cocktails, was born, symbolising both our journey and our commitment to crafting memorable experiences through mixology.
